February 2018 – Family Promise of Pickens County would like to sincerely thank Cornell Dubilier for their generous donation. These funds give Family Promise the ability to expand its commitment made to families facing homelessness and increase its existing transitional housing program from one to two homes.
Transitional housing is a project designed to provide housing and appropriate support services to homeless persons to facilitate movement to independent living within 12 months. During this year, Family Promise continues to support the families to ensure that they receive assistance with accessing services, learning life skills, fiscal management, and so on. Transitional housing is another resource to help families gain self-sufficiency.
“Homelessness is a problem in all communities whether people want to acknowledge it or not. If kids aren’t raised in a home then they haven’t got much of a chance in life. There are few things in this community we can contribute to that profoundly change people’s lives. Fortunately, Family of Promise is one of them and we are proud to be partnered with them,” Kaplan said.
